After a few years of releasing music under the given name of Sam Smith, I decided that it would be better if I changed my name to a stage name so people could find my music easier. I eventually settled on the name Jakob Vladimir. The idea for the name came from what I was almost named when I was born. After researching the name I found that there was a lot less of a chance of me being confused with someone of a similar name like my previous one.

 

I primarily write Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, Classical, and a sub-genre of Classical that I call Heavy Orchestral. But I also mess with other genres from time to time.

 

I also work with other musicians in my local music scene as a freelance audio engineer to record their music and help them get it out to the world.
